Although our services have been migrated to the cloud, we are not reaping the full benefits afforded by cloud infrastructure. Services have developed over a long period of time making use of a variety of technologies. Some of our technologies are not in wide use, which has the risk that at some point they can no longer be supported. We also need to bring our services together in terms of technical support and ensure there are no single points of failure.
We will optimise our service infrastructure, de-coupling our siloed, single service-based approach, enabling further interoperability between our services now and into the future.
